Intoto Delivers Advanced Multi-Service Security Software Platforms for Small-to-Medium Enterprise Gateway Applications


iGateway Product Line Integrates SSL-VPN, Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam for Improved Secure Access, Threat Management and Productivity Assurance


Santa Clara, Calif., April 25, 2005 – Intoto, a leading provider of network-centric secure gateway software for networking and communications Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), today announced the availability of multi-service security software platforms for Small-to-Medium Enterprise (SME) gateway applications. Intoto expanded its iGateway RGS and iGateway EX software platforms and iGateway software modules with SSL-VPN, anti-virus (AV) and anti-spam (AS) functionality, to enhance its existing firewall, intrusion prevention and Web filtering solutions for improved secure access, threat management and productivity assurance.

Intoto’s new multi-service security software platforms allow OEMs to deliver integrated security appliances and converged business gateways, two of the most rapidly growing networking product segments. Integrated security appliances offer an assortment of security capabilities in a single box including firewall/VPN, intrusion detection and prevention, and anti-virus. Some products may also include content filtering, anti-spam, and anti-spyware. According to In-Stat, the integrated security appliance market is poised for explosive growth, reaching $3.3 billion by 2009,while the business gateway, a new integrated networking product type that serves the entire data, security, and voice communications needs of small businesses and branch offices, may capture a significant portion of the total SME equipment market forecasted to grow to $16B in 2008.

“Small-to-medium enterprises often do not have the onsite expertise and support necessary to manage a series of separate point solutions,” stated Keith Nissen, senior networking analyst at In-Stat. “As a result, users are looking for converged solutions that provide many security functions from a single platform. As this need continues to grow, OEMs will look to integrate software platforms that can address the requirements of convergence and produce all-in-one security solutions.”

Intoto’s iGateway software meets the security requirements for applications such as unified threat management appliances, security appliances, security routers, secure WLAN AP and switches, and VoIP IADs. iGateway SSL-VPN allows users to securely access key corporate resources at remote locations through any standard Web browser. Additionally, integrated anti-virus and anti-spam features in the iGateway family provide a high level of data protection from malicious attacks and inappropriate or unwanted content.

iGateway SSL-VPN complements Intoto’s current VPN solutions by enabling access to applications to remote users such as telecommuters, mobile employees, customers, and partners. Depending on data sensitivity, the levels of security vary per application that is accessed by mobile or remote users. Because SSL is already widely deployed on PCs and Web browsers, minimal or no client software installation is needed. Its simple management and easy connection makes it ideal for network administrators.

Both iGateway AV and iGateway AS augment Intoto’s firewall, intrusion prevention and Web filtering to improve productivity by eliminating workplace nuisances such as spam, viruses, worms, Trojan-horses and phishing schemes.

Intoto will demonstrate its iGateway SSL-VPN solution in Booth 805 at Networld+InterOp in Las Vegas on May 3-5, 2005.

Pricing and Availability

The iGateway SSL-VPN solution will be available as a stand-alone solution or as an optional module for both the iGateway RGS and iGateway EX software platforms in late-Q2 2005 while both the anti-virus and anti-spam functionality will be available in Q3 2005. Pricing available upon request.
