Intoto to Showcase Intel®-based Secure VoIP Gateway Reference Design for Small-to-Medium Businesses at VON Spring 2005

Combined Solution
Supports Nationwide VoIP Services Including AT&T’s VoIP
Services
Intoto and Intel to
Present VoIP Platform at VON Vendor Theater on Wednesday, March 9,
2005, 2:00-2:30pm
VON SPRING SHOW (BOOTH # 728), San Jose, Calif., March 8,
2005 — Intoto, a leading provider of integrated security, voice and wireless
software platforms to networking equipment manufacturers, today announced that
it will showcase a secure VoIP gateway reference design optimized for the
Small-to-Medium Business (SMB) market at the VON Spring 2005 Conference and
Expo. The complete VoIP platform
features data, security, voice and WLAN convergence for SMBs and is based on
Intoto’s iGateway EX SecureICP software and the Intel®
IXDPG425 Network Gateway Reference Platform. The combined solution
supports nationwide VoIP services such as AT&T’s VoIP services.
“The SecureICP reference design is
an ideal solution for OEMs who need to quickly incorporate security, data and
voice functionality into their systems,” said Doug Makishima, vice president of
marketing at Intoto. “At Fall VON last October, we showcased a prototype of the
platform. Now, we are demonstrating a fully functional solution ready for OEMs
to integrate, dramatically reducing time spent on development and
certification.”
Intoto’s iGateway EX SecureICP gateway software is
optimized for the Intel IXP425 network processor to allow equipment
manufacturers to build highly secure, reliable and feature-rich Integrated
Communication Platforms (ICPs). It is a fully integrated high-performance
solution for convergence products ranging from Integrated Access Devices
(IADs), embedded routers with VoIP and security, IP PBXs, and voice and media
gateways.
The solution
is based on the Intel® IXDPG425 Network Gateway Reference Platform which
includes the Intel IXP425 network processor. It supports up to four POTS ports,
10/100 Mbps WAN, four port 10/100 Mbps LAN switch, and a mini-PCI interface for
a wireless LAN card interface. The Intel IXP425 network processor is supported by a powerful
DSP software library that runs on the high speed Intel XScale® core for processing algorithms such as G.711, G.726, G.729,
G.722, G.723.1, and T.38 Fax over IP support with very low power
consumption. In addition, built-in network processing engines (NPEs)
support the Intel XScale core with data processing to assure optimal voice
quality.
“This
announcement highlights the versatility of the Intel® IXP425 network processor,”
said Terry West, network processor marketing director, Infrastructure
Processor Division, Intel Corporation. “When combining this highly integrated
processor with Intoto’s software, OEMs can quickly deliver products that
address the demanding market needs.”
Intoto and Intel will hold a presentation about the
platform at the VON Spring vendor theater on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at 2:00
pm.
About iGateway EX SecureICP
Intoto’s iGateway EX SecureICP
software platform provides a fully interoperable SIP-based VoIP gateway, VPNC certified firewall, VPNC certified VPN, wireless LAN, secure AP and
LAN/WAN access functionality. The VoIP Gateway includes extensive services
delivered via Intoto's patent-pending call processor. The software platform also powers secure Voice-over-WiFi
(VoWiFi) services.
The SIP
gateway acts as proxy and registrar, supporting access to VoIP services for
soft clients connected locally on the LAN as well as remote clients connected
to the Internet. The solution provides several standards-based Quality of
Service (QoS) and prioritization mechanisms as well as a variety of traffic
shaping methods. Security of signaling and voice is ensured by transport
through IPsec VPN. IPsec VPN leverages the hardware crypto
accelerator to provide performance for voice traffic through VPN.Provisioning, firmware upgrades and management of the
gateway device are done through an SSL-based secure provisioning mechanism.
