Intoto Inc. Announces the Availability of Firewall Security Solution on the Intel® IXP1200 Network Processor and its Plans to Support the New Intel® IXP2400 and IXP425 Network Processors

Intoto utilizes the power of Intel network processing building blocks to accelerate the development of scalable, flexible network security solutions for high-performance gateway equipment

INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Feb. 26, 2002 Intoto Inc., today announced the availability of Stateful Inspection Firewall Security Solution (npFirewall) for the Intel® IXP1200 Network Processor and its plans to support security solutions for the new Intel® IXP2400 and IXP425 Network Processors. This highly scalable and flexible security solution on Intel network processors address the OEM requirements for building high-performance secured gateway applications including broadband access platforms, QoS, firewalls and intrusion detection, virtual private networks, load balancing equipment and multi-service switches.

"Intoto's implementation of a full-featured NAT and Firewall solution in microcode, can deliver scalable performance on communications equipment based on the Intel b IXP1200, IXP2400 and IXP425 Network Processors," said Doug Davis, general manager of the Intel Network Processor Division. "Intoto's microcode helps equipment makers to quickly integrate security features into their products, accelerating their time to market."

Intoto is a leading provider of the embedded security software solutions for gateway devices and plans to deliver stateful inspection firewall for the Intel IXP2400 and IXP425 Network Processors. Intoto's iGateway npFirewall solution for the Intel IXP1200 Network Processor offers full-featured Stateful Inspection Firewall software, which is based on Intoto's iGateway Firewall. The architecture supports the use of multiple data-processing engines on Intel network processors, enabling the OEMs to build scalable high performance Firewall equipment. The npFirewall has the ability to create multiple virtual firewalls using subscriber specific policies. The Cyber Defense engine protects against a large number of Internet attacks including DoS, DDoS, & reassembly attacks and has built-in NAT with support for a wide range of Application Level Gateways (ALGs). The npFirewall also is capable of Application content filtering, authenticated remote user access, web based management, logging, and administration.

"We utilize our experience in providing award winning secured gateway software platforms to deliver high-performance security solutions including Firewall and VPN for Intel's family of network processors." said Sathyan Iyengar, President and CEO of Intoto Inc. "The highly optimized software architecture will help enable OEMs to rapidly deploy high-performance secured gateway equipment on Intel's new network processors".

Intoto is a member of the Intel® Internet Exchange Architecture (Intel® IXA) Developer Network. Intoto's security solutions roadmap for Intel network processors include Virtual Private Network (VPN) and MPLS-VPN software targeted for release in Q2-02. Other network processor software solutions from Intoto include ATM (AAL2) and MPLS software scheduled for release in Q1/Q2-2002. Intoto plans to support its network processor software products on all future versions of network processors from Intel.
