Intoto’s iGateway VPN Earns IPSec 2.1 Certification from ICSA Labs
Intoto One of the First Vendors to Meet Rigorous Security Standard
Santa Clara, Calif. — October 22, 2007 — Intoto, the leading provider of security software for network infrastructure equipment, today announced that its iGateway™ VPN is one of the first products to earn ICSA Labs Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) VPN Version 2.1 certification. ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon Business, tests vendors’ products and certifies that they are meeting today’s rigorous security standards.
“We are committed to meeting the highest standards and we’re delighted to be one of the first vendors to receive the IPSec Certification under the 2.1 criteria,” said Sathyan Iyengar, CEO of Intoto. “Our iGateway VPN not only gives equipment manufacturers advanced security, it also speeds time-to-market and lowers development costs.
”
The iGateway VPN offers secure network connectivity, protecting the confidentiality, authenticity and integrity of corporate data by implementing the latest IETF IPsec standards. It employs both Internet Key Exchange (IKE) V1 and V2 protocols for automatically negotiating the security associations with peers. The iGateway VPN provides strong authentication with pre-shared keys, RSA and DSA certificates. It also supports all relevant cryptographic algorithms and various industry standard crypto accelerators in a scalable fashion to achieve higher throughputs and tunnel setup rates.
IPsec, along with IKEv2 and EAP-SIM/AKA, has been chosen as the security protocol for the UMA and IMS standards in the wireless phone industry. Intoto’s field-tested, fully interoperable VPN solution has helped many enterprise and carrier grade equipment manufacturers bring UMA and IMS gear to the market in record time.
iGateway VPN’s key features include full RFC compliant interoperability, exceptional tunnel setup rate, and high availability support in both Active-Active and Active-Backup mode. Extensive management and administration capabilities allow VPN policies to be easily created and modified. Alerts and notifications can be accessed locally and remotely, and syslog messages integrate seamlessly with third-party reporting systems.
The ICSA Labs’ IPSec VPN Certification program is an independent and comprehensive process that rigorously tests, assesses and validates IPsec VPNs in a simulated, real-world environment. The testing methodology used by ICSA Labs is the result of years of research, real-world scenarios, vendor cooperation and end-user feedback.
“ICSA Labs is uniquely positioned to evaluate VPN products because our testing process is dynamic, testing products in a simulated real-world environment,” said George Japak, managing director, ICSA Labs. “Intoto’s achievement in certifying its iGateway VPN demonstrates the company’s commitment to driving product enhancements in the ever-changing threat environment.”
